Josef, Isabel and Mahmoud live in different places and different times, but each of them is forced to face fear, upheaval and the loss of safety. Set in 1930s Nazi Germany, Cuba in 1994 and Syria in 2015, the novel follows three young lives that are separated by continents and decades, then linked in unexpected ways.
