Deutsche Harmonia Mundi przedstawia kolejny album Joela Frederiksena - wokalisty (bas) i lutnisty. Mieszkający w Monachium artysta współpracował z takimi gwiazdami i zespołami muzyki dawnej jak: Emma Kirkby, Jordi Savall, Paul O'Dette, Stephen Stubbs, Musica fiata, Freiburger Barockorchester, Josquin Capella, Ensemble Gilles Binchois i Huelgas Ensemble. Studiował wokalistykę i grę na lutni w Michigen, a w latach 1990 - 1999 był członkiem znanych w USA zespołów muzyki dawnej: The Waverly Consort i the Boston Camerata. Jest wybitnym interpretatorem muzyki angielskich lutnistów oraz kompozytorów włoskiego baroku.

A Day with Suzanne to wyjątkowy hołd złożony kanadyjskiemu piosenkarzowi i autorowi tekstów Leonardowi Cohenowi. Joel Frederiksen połączył takie przeboje jak "Suzanne", "Hallelujah" czy "A Thousand Kisses Deep" z chansonami francuskiego renesansu takich kompozytorów jak: Josquin des Préz, Orlando di Lasso, Pierre Guédron, Le Phoenix czy De Vincent.
